It's All About BalanceWe all struggle with finding the time, and often the motivation, to write with all the other things that go on in our lives. Some of us have other jobs on top of our home and family obligations. Children, spouses, parents get sick or injured and need our time and attention. Committees, volunteer work, church, school, so many things can leave us drained at the end of the day. Then there are the discouraging, often depressing, things we hear about in our daily news reports. And don't forget such nonsense as #cockygate and bookstuffers! Come discuss with us how you manage to find the time and motivation to write while being pulled in so many directions.
Jul 21
9am-11:30 at the Mayfair Mall (Garden Suites Community Room, lower level), Wauwatosa

Time for a Write-In!

Write Touch Conference

WisRWA Write Touch Conference LogoWelcome to the 2019 WisRWA Conference!

This is the year! We dare you…to dive into decadent storytelling, to decide the next steps of your career, to define yourself and your Voice, and to defy expectations. We dare you to participate in a diverse conference setting, to pitch yourself and your work to agents and editors and try something new. We dare you to ask for help, receive critiques and network beyond your usual circles.

WisRWA’s conference roster and schedule in 2019 is formulated to offer writing workshops, intensive training and a la carte options for writers of all genre fiction. While we believe romance makes the world a happier place, and the world needs love, really when you come down to it, almost every book is about love and has a tiny smidgen of desire. We also know that craft, marketing, and networking transcend literature pigeonholes. Whether you write literary fiction, YA, or fantasy, there’s something for you at #WisRWA19.

Whether you join us for a single intensive workshop on Friday morning, or come party and learn all day Friday and Saturday, we dare you to have fun while taking brave steps to advance your writing career. See below for all the details.

How much to attend?

Well, that’s complicated.

What if you’re sure, Definitely Sure

You’re all in. You want to learn, immerse yourself and understand the value of networking. You want to squeeze as much knowledge out of a weekend as possible. Two action-packed days (and then some), finding your tribe, pitching your story to an agent and/or editor, some good drinks, an exorbitant amount of information, and lovely meals gives you the whole weekend for a steal at $250.

Maybe you’re Daring and registered for the full conference…

For $40 you can add on an in-depth critique of your 1st four pages and query. Can you handle it? Can you hear it? Decrease your personal and writing pitfalls by working one-on-one with a published and successful author, agent or editor. It will hone your writing.

Are you daring enough to listen and implement what you hear? It’ll be worth it . . .

Suppose you’re Intense?

Maybe you’re already published (self or traditional), or you’re *this* close. Maybe you want to be challenged, or prove your writing chops. Join our dedicated writing community and come in for Lisa Cron’s bold approach to storytelling. Friday morning for three incredible hours from 9am to noon.

If you’re registering for the whole weekend it’s only $50. If you simply want Lisa’s storytelling secrets it’s $125.
